Somatics is a field of study and practice that highlights the profound connection between body and mind. Instead of approaching the body from the outside or solely through intellectual understanding, somatic practices invite us to attune to our inner experience, listening deeply to the wisdom our bodies hold and engaging with their innate capacity for insight and healing.
Our bodies carry the stories of our lives—all the joys, emotions, challenges, and patterns shaped by our nervous system. Over time, difficult experiences can leave imprints that show up as pain, tension, chronic illness, or a sense of stuckness and disconnection. Yet, by reconnecting with our bodies and cultivating a deeper relationship with them, we can access a profound pathway to healing—one that moves us beyond survival into a state of thriving.
Traditional approaches to understanding the psychology of change often focus on mindset alone, overlooking the body and subconscious. However, your body—which is deeply connected to your subconscious, autonomic nervous system, and brain—plays a pivotal role in shaping the choices you make in life.
By working directly with your body—tuning into its natural rhythms, somatic patterns, breath, and areas of tension—you can unlock a powerful pathway to transformation. Somatic coaching helps you step out of old patterns, release limiting beliefs that no longer serve you, and reconnect with your inner strength and resources. This work supports you in showing up in the world fully and authentically, making life choices from a centered, grounded place where body, mind, and soul are aligned.

Sustainable change takes time. Some people can feel a profound shift quickly, or it can take longer. All insights and internal shifts need integration so they can actually lead to long-term transformation. Sometimes, small, gentle incremental shifts over longer period might be preferable to trying to initiate big dramatic shift all at once. This is especially true for someone with a lot of overwhelm.
An initial coaching engagement is usually 6 months, or at a minimum 3 months. Unless otherwise arranged, we meet once a week for a while, then bi-weekly. Life is a continually unfolding process. Some big life transitions last for years, and navigating chronic health challenges can be a long journey with many ups & downs. Many clients can benefit from longer term ongoing support.
Each somatic coaching session provides a collaborative and safe space for exploration and growth. Sessions are approximately 60 minutes and conducted via Zoom.
In-person option: If you are in the San Francisco Bay Area (including Berkeley, Oakland, Alameda, San Leandro, Hayward, Castro Valley and surrounding areas), in-person sessions are also available. If you are navigating a health condition, acupuncture can be seamlessly integrated into your coaching session for additional support.
My approach to somatic healing and coaching is Presence-centered and developmentally focused, helping you access the resources available here and now. This work is not about fixing what’s “wrong” or forcing change—it’s about recognizing wholeness and tapping into the innate wisdom and resilience already within you.
I honor the multi-dimensional layers of human experience. Besides somatic practices and nervous system theories, I also integrate principles of compassionate inquiry, imaginal work, intuition, energy healing, Chinese medicine, and spirituality to support your unique journey. Together, we co-create a safe, nurturing space for clarity, resilience, and empowered change.
